Together we can change the world. By continuous improvement of all aspects of sustainability as integral part of our strategy and of what every employee in our companies does every day — day in and day out.
SIP Protection is part of the Sioen Group. Being a large international company, we are aware of our social, environmental and economic responsibilities in society. Therefore, Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of our company strategy.
Corporate Social Responsibility refers to “the responsibility a company has when it comes to the effects they have on society, taking into account social, environmental and economic considerations into the overall management” (source ). On our dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) website you can find the many actions Sioen is involved in. Those include sponsorships, sustainable products, the umbrella associations we are part of and the certificates we hold, among others.
Our CSR approach is based on four different views. The first one is the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), which address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and injustice. The second view is based on the Triple Bottom Line framework: People, Prosperity and planet. We have added two more “P’s”: Partnership and Peace. This 5 P’s approach helps us measure our business when it comes to sustainability.
For the third view, we have selected five topics that we call our Sioen Focal Points. The topics that we will give extra attention are: energy, waste, sustainable products, credentials and human resources. Our final view focuses on certificates, memberships and awards. They reflect our dedication to CSR-related themes and they prove that what we’re claiming are not just hollow words.

BAAs coordinates today's global national activities for professional tree careers. Main activities are, on the one hand, the establishment and organization of the European Tree Worker (ETW) and European Tree Technician (ETT) examinations in Belgium under the regulations of the European Arboricultural Council (EAC). On the other hand, BAAs organizes the National Belgian Tree Climb Championship under the rules of International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
In 2017, BAAs obtained the status of professional association (official since May 12, 2017), and in the coming months, the organizational structure of BAAs will be restored to represent and support the tree care sector.
ISA -- the International Society of Arboriculture is an organization whose mission is to promote the professional practice of arboriculture through research, technology, and education, and to foster a greater worldwide public awareness of the benefits of trees.
The "Societe Française d'Arboriculture" unites all (French) actors in forestry and horticulture. The federation informs members about legislation and develops and supports scientific knowledge and international knowledge exchange.
For more than 25 years, the Rhino is part of our logo. His tough skin protects him against the claws and teeth from lions and tigers. And yet he is very fast and agile.
Our garments protect you against the teeth and claws from your chainsaw, and you can stay comfortable at work. For more than 25 years we have been protecting you against the risks of the chainsaw, and we want to continue doing that for many years.
Over the years, we have sold more than 1.000.000 chainsaw trousers. The rhino of SIP Protection thus has protected many chainsaw operators.
In return, we also want to help protect the Rhino. When we came across Siphosetu, a South African Rhino with a beautiful name, we immediately fell in love with her. And we decided to adopt her.
